Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate, according to CLAT Eligibility. Candidates from the reserved category are also offered a 5% discount. Candidates of any age group are eligible to apply for CLAT 2022. According to the updated guidelines by the Consortium of NLUs for the examination, candidates can try CLAT 2022 as many times as they like with no restrictions. Those candidates who are non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens (OCIs), permanent residents (PIOs), and foreign nationals are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2022. At the time of counselling, candidates must also meet all the eligibility criteria requirements. Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility requirements for CLAT 2022, as defined by the characteristics stated below:

Number of Attempts Candidates should be informed that there is no time limit for taking the CLAT 2022 exam established by the consortium for this year. As many times as they like, candidates may sit for the CLAT UG/PG test at no additional cost.

Following are the eligibility requirements for CLAT UG and PG courses in 2022:

CLAT UG Eligibility 2022            

  • Candidates who fall under the General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories must have scored a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks or equivalent in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination) to be considered.
  • Candidates who fall into the SC/ST categories must have received a 40 percent higher overall average or equivalent.

CLAT Postgraduate Eligibility in 2022

  • Candidates belonging to the General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories must possess an LLB Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 percent or equivalent grade in the LLB or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates who fall under the SC/ST category must have a 45 percent aggregate or an equivalent grade to be considered.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2022 Final Year Students

  • Those who take the qualifying exam in March/April 2021 will also be able to take the CLAT 2022 exam.
  • On the other hand, final-year applicants must produce evidence of passing the qualifying test at the time of admission or risk losing their chance at entry.
  • Candidates who do not present their passing mark sheets/certificates with the requisite marks will not be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for International Students in CLAT 2022      

  • Under the NRI Quota, candidates applying under the NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National category should contact their respective institution for admission criteria, eligibility, needed papers, and other relevant inquiries.
  • For those NLUs that need the CLAT Exam as a condition for admission to the category, candidates requesting NRI status must take CLAT 2022.
  • The CLAT Office will be in charge of publishing a list of applicants who are qualified for this category of admission.
  • In all other cases, applicants must check with the institutions they want to attend to see whether CLAT 2022 is a prerequisite for NRI admissions.

NRI Candidates’ Documents Required for CLAT 2022 Admissions
