Statesville, North Carolina: An All-American City

3 min read

Overview

Statesville’s declaration as an All-America City has only sparked its already budding progress. The county seat of Iredell County, North Carolina is a rural area adjacent to several urban business establishments. Statesville is a quaint town that comfortably reaps fruits from the nearby metropolises of Winston-Salem and Charlotte. Though it could easily be a metropolitan on its own, Statesville has chosen to retain its historical sites that further magnify its small-town charm. Modern growth can be seen through its diverse industry, budding health care, various business establishments, excellent schools, and affordable housing. Charlotte may be a tourist favorite, but there’s no denying Statesville has it all.

Things to Do

A string of unique experiences await tourists in Statesville. Whether strolling through the beautiful community, searching for precious gems, playing rounds of golf, visiting a NASCAR shop, attending some of the best festivals in the nation, or visiting five historic districts, there’s always something for everyone. You can also pick your own sweet corn, decorative gourds, and strawberries at Howard’s Farm, or bring the children to play at the interactive exhibits of Iredell Children’s Museum.

When to Visit

Statesville is home to at least two of North Carolina’s most exciting festivals: the Carolina BalloonFest and the CrossRoads Pumpkin Fest. When combined, the duo features hot air balloons, arts and crafts, food, and great entertainment. More than 60 art and craft exhibitions, entertainment stages, and tantalizing food booths are available throughout the festivities. The Carolina BalloonFest is held every October at the Statesville Regional Airport. The fun-filled activity features the best of North Carolina’s wines and of course, more than 50 colorful hot air balloons.
